September 20th 2025 saw hundreds of buildings around the world get lit up in green to raise awareness and funding for mitochondrial disease, a large group of diverse and often devastating genetic disorders still poorly known among the public and medical community, and in dire need of awareness and research to improve diagnosis and develop treatment.
